R&D STUDIES

Deltamarin R&D carries out annually 35-40 different studies. By June 2004 the files consist of more than 390 reports covering all kinds of ships, machinery options and systems. The studies are carried out for shipowners and suppliers for their product and project development and to support their decision making process.

PROJECT DESIGN

Project design by Deltamarin is based on the principle of total coordination: besides the general arrangement several other items are included and coordinated together. These items include arrangements, structure, accurate weight, compartmentation and stability, machinery arrangement and all this fitted into a good hull form ensuring efficient performance.

3D MODELS

Virtual reality 3-D computer models are the start-up of IT revolution in shipbuilding and shipping. Complicated spaces can easily be modelled and visualised, functionality can be checked, simulations can be run, etc., i.e. a Virtual Reality Mock-up can be built allowing easy and quick changes.

SHIP FUNCTION SIMULATIONS

The main purpose of the ship function simulations is to optimise and improve the processes and also to detect bottlenecks and other problem areas. When the simulation is done at a very early stage, i.e. already at the project stage of the design, the full benefit of a simulation can be achieved, simulation based design is reality.
