As the year 2014 draws to a close, we would like to take a quick look back. For Deltamarin this was a year of major achievements.
In our traditional business areas – ship design and offshore engineering – several remarkable engineering contracts were signed, such as the world’s largest civilian hospital ship and Libra and Kraken FPSOs. We are very excited to be part of the hospital ship project for Mercy Ships, which is first of its kind in Deltamarin’s history. In the offshore segment we are especially proud to participate in the engineering of the Libra FPSO conversion for Odebrecht’s and Teekay’s joint venture as well as Kraken FPSO conversion for Bumi Armada.
The success of our own B.Delta bulk carrier design continues; already 110 are sold, and several vessels have been delivered to clients. We are very proud that the performance of the vessels has been proven in continuous operation. In the autumn we released the B.Delta37 Mark II, a new benchmark in the handysize bulk carrier sector with even further reduction in fuel consumption, while maintaining a maximized cargo carrying capacity.
A large step was taken when we started a totally new type of business by expanding our services from engineering also to construction business. The new company in Deltamarin Group, Deltamarin Floating Construction Ltd, focuses on delivering engineering, procurement, construction and installation solutions on turnkey basis for the marine and offshore industry. Another newly established subsidiary of Deltamarin, DeltaLangh Ltd, designs and produces scrubbers and water treatment units for merchant ships. Both companies have already signed several contracts. Their first customers include Langh Ship and Bore.
We are proud of all the challenging projects we have had the privilege to participate in this year, and would like to thank all our clients and cooperation partners for the fruitful collaboration. We look forward to challenging our skills for your benefit and working with you successfully also in the year to come.
