Deltamarin continues work on Titanic II

Titanic II ocean liner - credit Blue Star Line

Blue Star Line confirmed earlier this autumn that work on the Titanic ll ocean liner will continue. Deltamarin has now also recommenced the work on the project.

Deltamarin is reviewing the project to ensure that the vessel will be compliant with all relevant regulations and that it will meet Blue Star Line’s design criteria. Deltamarin will be responsible for coordinating the various parties involved in the rebuild including shipyards, architects, interior designers and operation managers. Discussions about further involvement in the project are also underway.

“Blue Star Line will create an authentic Titanic experience, providing passengers with a ship that has the same interiors and cabin layout as the original vessel, while integrating modern safety procedures, navigation methods and 21st century technology to produce the highest level of luxurious comfort,” says Blue Star Line Chairman Clive Palmer.

“For more than 100 years, Titanic has been the inspiration of many stories and movies, truly a mythical piece of history. We at Deltamarin are excited to be a part of Blue Star Line’s ambitious project where the aim is to build Titanic II and make history again. Deltamarin is proud to participate in this unique and extremely interesting project,” says Janne Uotila, Managing Director at Deltamarin.

Blue Star Line has advised Titanic II enquiries to be sent through their website bluestarline.com.au where you may either subscribe or send enquiries directly.

You may also read more about the project on Blue Star Line’s website.

  2. Jamie November 12, 2018 at 06:14 #

Is there any video or pictures of this ship being built? The Original ship had footage….I find it rather strange there is No footage of the T2…

    • Deltamarin November 12, 2018 at 11:12 #

      Dear Jamie,
For the time being the earlier concept is being reviewed and after that decisions on the project development will be made. The building of the ship has not yet begun so no video nor pictures are available about that.

      • Kevin November 12, 2018 at 19:13 #

The actual ship hasn’t been started? How is it being reported that it will sail in just a few years. Ive been following this story for years now and nothing has been done yet? How much are the tickets and when will North America be able to purchase them?

    Hello Kristian,

I am am watching a news video where Mr. Palmer clearly states that the cabins are being built and this is being done before the main structure, he clearly suggests that this is in process. The news video is at least a year old so my question follows on to Jamies question above, why is there no video?

    Thanks.

    • Deltamarin November 13, 2018 at 14:10 #

As the designer, Deltamarin has no videos available. We kindly ask you to contact the owner Blue Star Line about this matter.

Will the original designs undertaken by Deltamarin in 2013 be used or will another re design occur? And what stage of design and development is Titanic II currently in?

    • Deltamarin November 14, 2018 at 08:55 #

Deltamarin is now reviewing the design done earlier to ensure that the vessel will be compliant with all current safety and construction regulations.
We are also discussing further commissions with Blue Star Line.

  5. Kevin November 12, 2018 at 21:19 #

Are you going to do the bulk head between the 1st class dining room and the reception room like the Titanic’s or Olympic’s design? Here is the video showing the difference:

if blue star or deltamarin film the construction from start to maiden voyage in 3d there would be a opportunity for people all over the world to watch this piece of history being made in cinemas all over the world , it will give people the chance to see something not all will get to see in real life im sure money from the film in ticket sales might even pay for the ships construction .

Thank you Rob for your proposal. We will forward it to the owner Blue Star Line.

    Hello Deltamarin,

I know that Deltamarin has been involved with this project for quite sometime before so how much design work has been completed and how much designing is still required for the construction to begin? Also, any estimates as in when the construction will start?

    • Deltamarin November 19, 2018 at 10:54 #

      Dear John,
Unfortunately we cannot give you any reply yet. As mentioned in our news, we are for the time being checking over the design done earlier and discussions about our further involvement in the project are underway.

  8. Filipe November 16, 2018 at 02:29 #

Do you have a estimative about when you will start building it? I know you can´t give, for now, a exact response. So, only a estimative.

    • Deltamarin November 19, 2018 at 11:00 #

      Dear Filipe,
Unfortunately we cannot give you any reply yet. Review of the design done earlier and and discussions about our further involvement in the project are underway.

hello, there are rumors circulating that the launch of the Titanic is planned for 2022 but the company Blue Star Line has not confirmed this information, can you please confirmed this information thank you cordially

    • Deltamarin November 19, 2018 at 11:02 #

This is something only Blue Star Line can comment in due course.

  10. Malcolm November 18, 2018 at 00:46 #

Dear Deltamarin, I appreciate that you probably cannot answer this question, but will Titanic 2 be a cruise ship or ocean Liner by definition? I assume one key element is the hull thickness – standard or extra strong for the rigours of the North Atlantic. Thank you in anticipation.

    • Deltamarin November 19, 2018 at 11:03 #

      Dear Malcolm,
Titanic II will be an ocean liner. The owner Blue Star Line will decide where the ship will cruise.

  11. Matthew Dimasi November 18, 2018 at 09:35 #

When does Deltamarin expect the design and development phase of Titanic II to finish, allowing for construction to begin?

    • Deltamarin November 19, 2018 at 11:05 #

      Dear Matthew,
Unfortunately we cannot give you any reply yet. As mentioned in our news, we are for the time being checking over the design done earlier and discussions about our further involvement in the project are underway.

  12. Malcolm November 20, 2018 at 22:20 #

Will the ship have cabins pre-assembled and slotted into the hull like modern cruise ships do?

    • Deltamarin November 23, 2018 at 10:04 #

      Dear Malcolm,
This will be decided at a later stage of the project, so we cannot say yet.

  13. Matthew November 24, 2018 at 04:13 #

How long does Deltamarin expect review of the current Titanic II design take?

    • Deltamarin November 30, 2018 at 13:32 #

      Dear Matthew,
We expect the review be ready at around Christmas.

  14. Malcolm Oliver November 27, 2018 at 17:47 #

    Hi Deltamarin,

    1) How can the real bridge be behind the historic bridge, as per the renderings – how will the crew see out?

    2) You once considered doors hiding the new lifeboats – is that still possible?

    Thanks
    Malcolm

    • Deltamarin November 30, 2018 at 13:36 #

      Dear Malcolm,
We will have to revert to these questions at a later stage as the project proceeds.

  15. Tim Davis December 5, 2018 at 07:00 #

    Hello Deltamarin,
    1) once you finish the ongoing design review, how much more work (how many more months etc) is needed on Deltamarin’s behalf to start the construction?

    2) Also, I am guessing that the production design will be conducted by the shipyard, correct?

    3) Lastly, some of the best Titanic experts were onboard this project earlier. Are these experts back onboard to assist Deltamarin and Blue Star Line?

    • Deltamarin December 18, 2018 at 12:26 #

      Dear Tim,
      1) This will be the result from discussions with Blue Star Lines, at this moment we can’t confirm any fixed schedule.
      2) It depends on the shipyard selected. Deltamarin also provides production design services, so we would naturally be happy to continue with the project during the construction.
      3) Again, this is under discussions with BSL, project execution team is still under negotiations but we expect that at least partly the same team will be involved.

  16. Daniel February 5, 2019 at 05:35 #

There has been no update since December of 2018. As a fan of Titanic, I stumbled upon the news of Titanic II while looking at MSN’s website. I was very excited! But now I’m beginning to lose hope.

    • Deltamarin February 6, 2019 at 10:40 #

      Dear Daniel,
We have published more news last month, check here.
The design development will take some time but we will release more news in due course.

  17. Hunter May 25, 2020 at 17:30 #

Hello, is the ship still being worked on and planned for future construction at this time?

    • Deltamarin August 6, 2020 at 13:18 #

      Dear Hunter,
The owner Blue Star Line will inform when the matter progresses.
