The vessel engine room configuration is totally made over including change of four engines,
adding LNG and batteries as alternative fuels. The aim is to cut the vessel CO2 emissions by 25%.

  • Concept development of conversion principles including relocating spaces to find room for the LNG tank, minimising impact on vessel functionality and passenger spaces
  • Basic design material for conversion

Special Features:

  • Technically challenging conversion including several “first-ever” features.
  • Very flexible powering pattern allowing operation of vessel with lean-burn LNG to pure electrical battery power.

‘Nordnorge’ is the first of five vessels to undergo similar conversion. The conversion will be carried out during 2019/2020.
